Steps to Delete Gmail from Mobile:
Firstly, For mobiles or iPad devices we have Gmail App available on Google Play Store and App Store. Secondly, you can access Gmail from any of the mobile browser. On the other hand You can add or remove different accounts to Gmail. However, removing an account already added to Device App or uninstalling does not delete Gmail account.
Follow the below steps to properly delete a Gmail:
Step 1: Login to Gmail from mobile browser or if you are using Gmail app make sure your account is added linked and selected to use. After that, Click on Menu icon displayed beside Search box to view all the options, and Scroll down to select Settings.

Step 2: Click on Settings and select the account id which you intend to delete. And you will be navigated to different account options, Further, Select Manage account which directs you to Google Account. (As discussed above you can manage any service from google Account).

Continue Below Steps From Mobile and Desktop Devices:
Step 3: Certainly, In Google Account, you can view all the information about Privacy, Storage and other configurations. Further, Click on Data & personalization tab and scroll to select Download, delete, or make a plan for your data options. Then, Click on Delete a service or your account.

Step 4: Moreover, you will be navigated to Delete a Service or your account screen. Subsequently, you will see two options: one is Delete a Google Service and the other is Delete your Google Account.
Click on Delete a Google Service to delete Gmail account. In Addition, Google asks to verify your account, input your password and click Next to continue.

Step 6: At Last, you will be navigated to Delete screen where you will see all the services associated with your Google Account. Before clicking on Delete button you can download the data as backup by selecting Download Data link (as Below). Click on Delete icon displayed beside the Gmail service.

Step 7: To Sum up, after clicking on Delete icon, you will be navigated to How you’ll Sign in to Google screen to Select alternate Mail address to use all other Services associated with current Google Account. Further, provide the alternate address to use as Google Id to access other services and click on Next.

Step 8: In addition, A Confirmation mail to Delete Gmail will be send to Alternate mail address. In my case, i have provided Microsoft mail account, you can give any other mail address to confirm deletion.

Step 9: From the mail received, Click on the Link to Confirm Delete Gmail Account. And subsequently By clicking on Delete Button from Confirmation screen, your Gmail Account will be permanently deleted.

Delete or Deactivate Gmail from Desktop or PC:
Firstly, to Delete or Deactivate Gmail from Desktop or PC, Open any Web Browser and navigate to Gmail login page. Log in using the Gmail id which you wish to delete. Further, follow below steps to Delete the Account:
Step 1: Click on Setting icon displayed beside the Search bar and after that Click on See all settings button to view more options.

Step 2: From All Setting Menu, Click on Account and Import tab to view all account related settings. Further, click on Other Google Account Settings displayed under Change account settings section.

After clicking on Other settings you will be navigated to Google Account. In Addition follow the above steps to Delete Gmail account.
Download Data Before Deleting Gmail:
Google provides the option to Download the data before deleting any service. By clicking on Download data link you can backup all the information of your mails and other configurations to your Google Account. Moreover, you can access them anytime in future from the same Account.
Steps to Download the Data:
Step 1: Click on Download data link from the Delete Service Screen. Here you can select the account where you intend to backup. Further, you are navigated to Google Takeout to select all the configurations associated with you Gmail account. After selecting click on Next.

Step 2: After clicking on Next, select the Export method and file type and click on Create Export button to backup. Subsequently, All your files and related data will be backed up successfully.

You can also Backup your data anytime by selecting Download your data from the initial Google Account options under Data & personalization tab.
